  • More than $300,000 awarded to projects that support sustainable trails in WA
  • This includes projects in Augusta-Margaret River, Denmark, Pemberton and Manjimup
  • Trails are a significant contributor to WA's visitor and tourism economy.

Locals and visitors alike are set to benefit from a $331,302 investment into trail experiences through WA Trail Planning Grants Program, supporting 16 projects across Western Australia.

These projects include four trails across Warren-Blackwood: Wadandi Track Project in Augusta-Margaret River ($25k); Turner Road Trails Network Concept in Denmark ($25k); Arboretum Trail Development in Pemberton ($25k); and the Manjimup-Perth Ride Trail ($20k).

This is great news for our region and for the sustainable management of some of our most iconic trails.

The WA Trail Planning Grants Program aims to grow the trails industry and enhance the tourism economy in line with the WA Strategic Trails Blueprint 2022-2027.

The Blueprint was released in 2022 to guide future investment and planning consistency in the development of sustainable trails across the State and ensure more Western Australians are connected to Country through trail experiences.

“We just love our trail experiences in Warren-Blackwood, which is why it’s so great to see four of our iconic trails receiving a funding boost.

“The funding program aims to support the sustainable development of our recreational trails and ensure more people are connected to Country through trail experiences.

“This funding will help maintain our trails and ensure the many thousands of people who visit here each year have an adventure they never forget.”
